You may have heard that Huskies are escape artists and brushed it off as a myth. Sorry to say, but it isn't a myth. Huskies are well-known escape artists who are perfectly capable of scaling high fences, digging escape holes, or finding some other way to escape your property.
Can Huskies be trained to not run away?
Try tethering your Husky to a long leash. Give them enough freedom to roam around, but make sure they can't jump over any fences or escape. Again once they realize they can't escape, they will swiftly give up.
Are Huskies good off leash?
As a heavy duty working breed, the Husky is known for his ability to pull sleds along long distances over cold and snowy terrain. While this endurance and strength is excellent when controlled, you may wish to challenge your pup and try to harness that level of obedience off leash.
