【Expert answer】
Any Q

Is a Basenji easy to train?

Basenjis tend to be clever dogs, but not easy to train. They need creative, patient handling to bring out their best qualities. As mentioned, they do not bark, but the yodeling certainly makes quite a bit of noise. If left to their own devices they can be chewers and diggers.

Are Basenjis stubborn?

Basenjis are stubborn, and you could end up with a confused and aggressive Basenji if you try to overcome his stubbornness with force.

Is a basenji a good first dog?

Basenjis are known to be a very friendly and affectionate breed. They can be shy with new people at first but will quickly warm to you once they get to know you. Typically, the breed will have an independent character so they tend to go out and explore on their own when out for walks.

Do Basenjis like to cuddle?

They are also very clean animals, grooming themselves like cats, and making them perfect for cuddling (after a run at the dog park, of course). Basenjis are extremely compassionate and loyal to their chosen pack but are not overly clingy and are happy to be left alone.
