Are Basenjis obedient?
The Basenjis cannot be forced to do something; they must be convinced because they understand immediately what we want. They obey very well, if it is be in their natural behavior. They consider and decide directly to follow the command, or not.

Basenjis have many qualities which make them attractive to families: they are clean, they are known to be “barkless,” they are playful, fun- loving and intelligent. But, they are also very active, independent, and curious,which can some- times make them more difficult than some other breeds.
Are Basenjis easy to train?
Basenjis tend to be clever dogs, but not easy to train. They need creative, patient handling to bring out their best qualities. As mentioned, they do not bark, but the yodeling certainly makes quite a bit of noise. If left to their own devices they can be chewers and diggers.
Are Basenjis temperamental?
The strong temperament. Basenjis have an independent mind of their own and are not pushovers to raise and train. They can be manipulative, and many are willful, obstinate, and dominant (they want to be the boss) and will make you prove that you can make them do things.
