You can eat dehydrated sweet potato chips as a healthy snack, but they are chewy.


How long do sweet potatoes that are dehydrated last?

Without cooking or blanching, dehydrated sweet potatoes will lose their color and change flavor after about 3 months. The exception: If you use your dehydrated sweet potatoes within 3 months, you may not notice any quality or flavor changes.

Can you eat raw dehydrated potatoes?

Potatoes that are not blanched will turn a very unappealing grey to black colour as they dehydrate. They are not dangerous to eat – but no one will want to eat them.

Are dehydrated potatoes already cooked?

Dried potatoes are uncooked potatoes with most of the water removed. They are a great source of vitamin C, which we need to stay healthy. A serving size of cooked potatoes is ½ cup.

Can sweet potatoes be poisonous?

Poisoning could occur days after starting to eat a supply of sweet potatoes as the tubers start to degrade. Clinical signs can occur within a few hours of ingestion of damaged potatoes, 24 h or several days after ingestion. Recovery can take 4-12 days.
