Your veterinarian will tell you that Greyhounds are one of the best natured breeds. They make excellent house pets. Greyhounds are smart, sweet, calm, gentle, and loving with children and adults. Being curious and careless are also Greyhound traits.


Why you shouldn't get a greyhound?

No matter how gentle Greyhounds look, they are still large to very large dogs. An overly excited, untrained 45-95 pound Greyhound may knock down smaller children or a a frail person. And Greyhounds tend to hold their ears back and their tails tucked and balk when they are stressed.

Are greyhound dogs high maintenance?

They're considered docile and low maintenance but a vet is warning that adopted greyhounds may be in a chronic state of fear and ready to bite.
