In most people, a roundworm infection does not cause any noticeable symptoms. People most commonly see their doctor because they have seen a worm in their faeces (stools). Roundworms are the only worms found in human faeces that are roughly the size of an earth worm.

Roundworms are large worms that are easily seen with the naked eye. They look like spaghetti noodles and may pass live in an infected animal's stool. Roundworms may be seen in the stool, passed directly from the anus, or may be vomited.
What do roundworms look like on humans?
Ascaris, sometimes abbreviated as A., is the group of worms that cause ascariasis. The worm looks like the common earthworm. It's about 6 to 13 inches long and about as thick as a pencil. Up to 100 worms could potentially infect a person.
Are roundworm larvae visible?
Even though stool may not be visible, roundworm eggs may be present. Sandboxes that have fitted covers are popular and help prevent infection of children with roundworms.
