Are tortilla chips safe for dogs?

【Expert answer】
Any Q

If you must give your dog a treat from the fiesta table, stick to one or two plain tortilla chips (but not more than that—too much salt is another no-no).

Are corn tortilla chips good for dogs?

The short answer is: No, it is not recommended. While eating a few corm chips won't harm your dog immediately, it may be detrimental to your dog's health in the long term or if he consumes large quantities in one sitting.

Can dogs eat flour tortilla chips?

Dogs are really sensitive to salt and eating too much of it can cause sodium poisoning. Thankfully, they would have to eat a lot of tortilla chips for this to be a problem. Still, you should be careful with how many they eat at one time and call your vet if you notice them acting lethargic or strange.

What chips are dogs allowed?

Chips without salt are arguably a bit safer because you don't have to worry about the problems that come along with your dog eating too much salt, like dehydration, high blood pressure, or sodium poisoning. However, unsalted chips still have all the fat and oils which aren't good for your dog.
