Or are Whippets lazy? In my experience, Whippets are not lazy at all. Sure they'll lounge around quite happily if they get the exercise they need… but lazy they most certainly are not! My Whippet Misty enjoys around an hour of off the leash exercise each day. 10 июл. 2021 г.


Are Whippets lazy like greyhounds?

Once they have expended some energy in short bursts, Italian Greyhounds and Whippets both can be rather lazy. Lazy enough that both breeds are included in our list of the laziest dog breeds! (We also include the Whippet in our list of calm dog breeds.)

Do Whippets sleep a lot?

Whippets, like most dogs, will sleep about 18 to 20 hours per day. Seems like a lot, but if there is nothing for them to do, nothing interesting to get into or you are not home to love on them, they sleep. The flip side is, when they want you to do something, like go for a walk, they won't leave you alone.

While calm and gentle dogs who enjoy quiet time, Whippets definitely need a good amount of exercise to stay happy and healthy. Your Whippet will need a minimum of an hour exercise every day.

Are Whippets badly behaved?

The AKC Standard says the Whippet is "amiable, friendly, gentle, but capable of great intensity during sporting pursuits."
