While whole fruit juice is not as nutritious as fresh water, dogs can still drink small quantities of fresh fruit juice, such as apple and orange juice. Warning: Grape juice of any form --whole fruit juice or fruit concentrate-- should never be given to dogs because it's toxic.
Is it OK for dogs to drink juice?
While some fruits do contain beneficial nutrients (and their juices do as well), a healthy canine diet doesn't call for fruit. Moreover, most fruit juices contain added sugars, which are not healthy for dogs. Whole juice is safe for dogs, but—again—not necessary.
Can dogs drink other things besides water?
Absolutely not. Ever. It's not cool, okay or funny to give any dog a sip of beer, wine or other alcohol. Your dog's kidneys and liver are not made for filtering (metabolise) alcohol through them!
