While dogs can usually drink most fruit juices safely, it's recommended they shouldn't. Even though most fruit juices aren't harmful or toxic to your dog, it's better to feed them whole fruits as snacks than have them drink juice.
What type of juice can dogs drink?
Fresh fruit juices, such as apple juice or orange juice can be given as an occasional treat. But juices made of fruit concentrate are another matter. Fresh fruit juices are neither toxic nor unhealthy for dogs, just make sure the seeds have been removed before popping them into the juicer.
Can dogs drink juices?
Whole juice is safe for dogs, but—again—not necessary. If you do share whole juice with your dog, share only small amounts only occasionally. For example, you might offer your dogs a few slurps of fresh orange juice from the plate you used to cut oranges. But don't pour juice from the jug into your dog's bowl.
Can dogs drink 100% juice?
Most juices contain added sweeteners and artificial flavors and coloring, which aren't healthy for dogs. Most whole juices are safe in small quantities — for example, letting your dog lick the plate after you cut oranges.
Can dogs drink concentrated juice?
Shop bought juices, particularly those from concentrate, should not be given to your dog, as they often contain sweeteners, artificial flavourings and colouring which are not good for dogs. However, a small amount of fresh fruit, ideally squeezed yourself, can be a refreshing treat for your dog.
