What kind of peanuts do you feed crows?

*Feed them something healthy—unsalted peanuts, with or without the shells are recommended by the crow experts themselves. *Don't throw the nuts AT them, and don't feed them too much. These are wild birds accustomed to gathering their own food—so a few peanuts are plenty.

Are raw peanuts safe for crows?

There are several ways peanuts can be offered to backyard birds. Whole peanuts, either in the shell or just the hearts of the nuts, are popular with larger birds such as jays, ravens, crows, woodpeckers, and grackles. Smaller birds may also take the nut meats and pound or break them into smaller, bite-size pieces.

What kind of nuts do crows like?

While crows will happily eat just about anything to survive, they do have a few foods they tend to enjoy more than others. If you've befriended a crow in your yard recently and want to offer them something they'll love, consider one of their favorites: Nuts, namely peanuts, walnuts, and almonds.

Can you feed salted peanuts to crows?

We recommend against it. Here's why: There is no scientific data to prove that the periodic use of salted peanuts does harm to birds. This is partly because of the very small amount of salt usually found on peanuts and the fact that peanuts typically make up a small percentage of a feeder bird's daily diet.
