How often should you take a dewormer?

Deworming is advised at least once a year. adults need deworming because there is a mild chance of parasites getting in our body orally either due to poor hygiene or outside food.

Can deworming be repeated?

Drugs like albendazole/mebendazole are used for deworming. Taking them once in prescribed dose is sufficient. In case of serious worm infestations like tape worm, deworming is repeated after 2 weeks to kill the migratory larva forms of the worm thus breaking the life cycle.

How often can I take worm tablets?

This is because the medicine kills the worms but not their eggs. For other worms such as whipworm, roundworm and hookworm, follow a doctors' instructions on how to take mebendazole. Usually you need to take a dose 2 times a day for 3 days.

Can you use Dewormer as a preventative?

A lot of Dewormers also act as a heartworm preventative (which depending on where you live is more important that other places) they also often times provide minimal protection from fleas and ticks.
