If Frontline is used, then worming is advised every 1-3 months. This is because Frontline is not effective against any worms. We also advise not to give multiple treatments at the same time. You should leave 2 weeks between administering spot-on treatment (e.g. Advocate) and a worming tablet (e.g. Milbemax).
Can you worm and flea cat at same time?
It's not advisable to use multiple treatments at the same time. Wait at least 2 weeks after administering a spot-on treatment before you give your cat a deworming product.
Do fleas and worms go together?
Fleas and worms are closely linked as the lifecycle of certain worms that affect our pets involve fleas harbouring worm eggs in their gut. That said, if an animal doesn't have fleas, it doesn't mean it doesn't have worms as not all worm life cycles involve the flea.
Can I give my cat dewormer and flea medicine?
Technically, yes you can, but I recommend separating the 2 medications by a couple of hours, or even give one on one day & the other the next.
Does deworming get rid of fleas?
They also kill fleas which jump onto your pet when outside the household. They are given every one or every three months. Some pills and tablets kill only fleas, but most of them kill both fleas and ticks. Most of these kill adult fleas, so stop the lifecycle completely.
