The Shar-Pei has a strong will and a desire to be independent. He can live outdoors much of the time but would prefer to split his time evenly between the house and yard. The Shar-Pei will require only a daily walk to satisfy his exercise demands. After which, he'll be a great companion for the family.

Shar-Peis are sensitive to heat due to the wrinkles on their head. They do not need a yard if you promise them a daily, non-sunny walk. Refill their water bowl often. They are quite active indoors so keep the fine china locked away.
