【Expert answer】
Any Q

Some can survive a long time in a litter box, while others cannot. Some parasites in cat stool, such as Toxoplasma gondii, are passed in a form that is not infectious for the first day or two in the litter box. Therefore, cleaning the litter box daily can help reduce exposure to the infectious form. 25 апр. 2008 г.

How long do worms live in litter box?

These parasites are contracted when a cat ingests anything containing their eggs, which may be found in food, water, soil, infected feces, and animal flesh. Whipworm eggs can survive in the environment for up to 5 years, take 11 weeks to mature in the body and can survive in the host for up to 16 months.

How do you clean litter boxes for worms?

Litterboxes can be cleaned with a bleach solution (one cup of chlorine bleach in one gallon of water) to facilitate removal of eggs. Rinse the litterbox thoroughly to remove all bleach since it is toxic to cats. Surfaces that may be contaminated with roundworm eggs can also be treated with this bleach solution.

Can roundworms live in litter box?

Clean your cat's litter box at least once per day, and wash your hands after handling the box. If your cat ever does get roundworms, frequent litter box cleaning can remove roundworm eggs before they develop and become infective.
