Birds are very individual, unique creatures - some really enjoy being petted by anyone and everyone, while some others won't be willing to accept touch even from their owner.
Do bird like to be petted?
Your bird should be a part of your family and you should spend some one-on-one time with him every day, but that doesn't necessarily mean holding and stroking him. Some birds just don't like human hands on them; they love to hang out and play with their people, but prefer not to be physically touched.
Do birds feel affection?
Birds show affection to one another by kissing their flock mates. This action is learned as a baby when a mother bird has beak to beak contact with its baby to feed it. Birds keep this behavior with them throughout their lives to help solidify bonds with other birds.
