While huskies are generally friendly and not aggressive towards other dogs, they must be supervised around small animals in and around the home, according to the American Kennel Club. Squirrels, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, hamsters and cats are animals that can easily end up on your husky's menu of the day.
Can Huskies and cats live together?
Huskies don't exactly get along with cats in most cases. They have a strong prey drive and must be supervised at all times when left alone with small animals. If you leave a cat alone with a Husky, you're placing the cat at risk of harm.
Do Siberian Huskies kill cats?
Huskies in particular are known to have a fairly high “prey drive,” so they have a tendency to see smaller animals as food (it also contributes to their terrible off-leash recall… they see something to chase and they can't hear you anymore). Certainly most any medium or large breed of dog is capable of killing a cat.
