Are Lurchers well behaved?

Lurchers are primarily hunting dogs, prized for their stealth and silence. They are calm, affectionate (except around cats or other furry critters), active, and intelligent.

Can you train a Lurcher not to chase?

You can also do both! This takes a lot of work, practice and time. Don't then just let them off lead and expect them not to chase until this is so engrained in them that they are making the right decision every single time. Off lead exercise is NOT essential.

How much exercise does a 1 year old Lurcher need?

Lurchers require at least two walks a day, and need the option to stretch their legs out for at least one of their walks. Given they have a strong prey drive, many owners opt to keep their Lurchers on the lead when out and about.
