All dogs feel the cold, but they don't all feel it the same way. Our beloved Salukis are Arabian desert dogs, bred to run in the sands of the Middle East. Even though they were both born in a country that gets all four seasons, they have virtually no fat and not much in the way of fur, so they feel the cold a lot.

Do Salukis need a coat?

Salukis benefit from having a medium or large enclosed yard they can run around in. They enjoy getting their exercise outdoors year round, but in winter they may need a dog coat for warmth because of their short, smooth coat and low body fat.
