What does roundworm look like in cats?

Once ingested, the roundworm larvae hatch out in the cat's gastrointestinal tract and migrate through the muscle, liver, and lungs. After several weeks, the larvae return to the intestine to mature. Roundworms can live inside the small intestine for up to 2 years. The worms are about as thick as a pencil. They can grow to be about 13 inches long. They reproduce very quickly. Female roundworms may lay more than 200,000 eggs a day.
How long until roundworms are gone in cats?
Most medications are able to kill adult worms within 24 hours of intake. In some special cases, it takes a second dose between 3 and 4 weeks later to kill the rest, which was larvae at the time of treatment.
Can I get roundworms from petting my cat?
Can my pet give the worms to me? Roundworms are not transmitted between people to other people. And they are not directly passed from dogs and cats to people.
