The infection can then spread from person to person through infected feces. Roundworms can live inside the small intestine for up to 2 years. The worms are about as thick as a pencil. They can grow to be about 13 inches long.
Can roundworms get big?
Dogs get two main roundworm species: Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina. Toxocara canis is worse, and people can get it, too. They're usually white or light brown and can be up to a few inches long. (They look like spaghetti.)

Intestinal blockage occurs when a mass of worms blocks your intestines, causing severe pain and vomiting.
