Is it normal for greyhounds to sleep all day?

Sleeping & Napping Greyhounds generally spend about 18 hours a day sleeping. Arrange for your dog's bed to be somewhere where the dog can be with the family but out of the flow of traffic. This is a “timeout” area where the dog can go and observe but not be an active participant.

Why is my greyhound so lazy?

They take laziness to a whole new level. Greyhounds can run at over 40 miles per hour — but they won't if they can help it. After a few steps they've had enough, give up and stop to lean on you. Like cats, they sleep for about 20 hours a day.

Do greyhounds get tired?

Whether it is jogging or walking, make sure to monitor your greyhound for signs of fatigue or overheating. Heat exhaustion is common in dogs. It can happen in your backyard, or on a walk.

Are greyhounds actually lazy?

Greyhounds love to sleep. In fact, they'll sleep for up to 20 hours a day! They're renowned for being incredibly lazy dogs, which isn't entirely fair as they're actually conserving their energy so that they can play later (sometimes in their pyjamas).
