Brushing Greyhounds One or two times weekly, brush through the dog's coat using a soft-bristle brush. A hound glove, a cloth glove that features flexible rubber bristles, can also be used to brush the dog. Regular brushing will pull dead hair away and can help keep the dog clean between baths.

Whilst their coat is low maintenance, Greyhounds are high shedders. Daily brushing can help remove any loose hair, whilst massaging with a “hound glove” gives their coat extra shine.
How do you groom a greyhound?
Grooming needs are minimal and take just a few minutes a day. Greyhounds have very little "doggy odor" and do not need frequent baths. A rubber brush, grooming mitt or a soft brush will do fine. When you do bathe your pet, use a good canine shampoo, never use a human shampoo.

Brush in the direction of hair growth. Don't use too much pressure so that it hurts your dog's skin; instead, apply firm strokes that will help remove dead hairs. Then use a shedding blade to grab dead hairs all over the coat. Shedding blades are an excellent way to help reduce shedding and prevent mats.

Make sure you get all the shampoo out as it can dry and become itchy for your dog. Now you can use your face cloth or hand towel to wash your Greyhound's face. The muzzle can often get stained, so concentrate your efforts there and then rinse with a slow stream of water. Remove the cotton balls from the ears!
