How long until a Malamute is fully grown?
Most Alaskan Malamutes stop growing between 18 and 24 months of age. You can expect your pup to be close to their full height and weight around their first birthday, but most will continue putting on muscle and filling out their chest until they're closer to two years old.
What is the biggest malamute?
Fun fact: Currently, the biggest Alaskan Malamute is named Tyson, and he lives in Richmond. He's a 3-year-old Mal with a body length of 63 inches (160 cm) and a weight of 150 pounds (68 kg). Because of their massive size and energy level, they don't do well in condos or apartments.
Is a Malamute a large or giant breed?
The Alaskan Malamute (/ˈmæləˌmjuːt/) is a large breed of dog that was originally bred for their strength and endurance to haul heavy freight as a sled dog and hound. They are similar to other arctic, husky, and spitz breeds such as the Greenland Dog, Canadian Eskimo Dog, the Siberian Husky, and the Samoyed.
