Despite their large size, Bullmastiffs only need around 50 minutes of daily exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle. As they were originally bred to be guard dogs, they're quite happy to laze around the house for long periods of the day.
How often should you walk a Bullmastiff?
Your Bullmastiff will need a minimum of two hours exercise every day. Ideally, this will be split into a few walks with off-lead time in a secure area. On top of this, your Bullmastiff will love training sessions with you. They are intelligent dogs and learn quickly, so love a challenge!
Can Bullmastiff go for long walks?
Despite their size, the Bullmastiff isn't a high-energy dog. A couple of short walks or playtimes a day will meet their needs. They're mellow enough to live comfortably in an apartment or condo, as long as they get their daily outings.
Can you take a Bullmastiff running?
We're not suggesting that you take your Bullmastiff for a sprint, but a short run or jog can do them the world of good. Why not wear the appropriate clothing and, if opportunity arises, get in a bit of extra exercise for yourself as well as your Bullmastiff.
Can bull mastiffs be left alone?
Breeds of big dogs that can be left alone include Shar-Pei, Greyhound, Bullmastiff, or Labradoodle. It's important to stress that, even though some dogs cope better with being alone, it doesn't mean they should be neglected.
