Malamutes need a minimum of two hours of heavy exercise every day. This can be spent running and walking so they can let off steam. As well as this they'll also need extra playtime, free time in the garden and training to help keep their brains active too.

As a large dog with a lot of energy, the Alaskan Malamute requires a great deal of exercise. The Kennel Club recommends over two hours of exercise a day, noting these are not dogs for lazy people.
How long does it take to potty train an Alaskan Malamute?
The good news is that you can start working on potty training your Alaskan Malamute from the moment you bring him home. By the time he is 8 to 12 weeks of age, he is capable of starting to learn where he can and cannot go potty. You also need to learn to recognize his specific signs that he needs to go.
How do I play with my Malamute puppy?
You can teach your young pup pulling and sledding commands while walking. We use a leash attached to the tug line (rear loop) of a padded harness and attach another leash to the collar. Encourage the pup to move out ahead of you in a straight line with no stops or wandering to the side.
How do you exercise an Alaskan Malamute?
Chasing their favourite ball or toy will keep your Alaskan Malamute occupied for hours and, with any luck, they'll kick it around themselves for a while and give you a break. Or, take the toy with you on a walk and give your Alaskan Malamute an even longer run!
