Malamutes need a minimum of two hours of heavy exercise every day. This can be spent running and walking so they can let off steam. As well as this they'll also need extra playtime, free time in the garden and training to help keep their brains active too.


How much exercise does a Malamute husky need?

As a large dog with a lot of energy, the Alaskan Malamute requires a great deal of exercise. The Kennel Club recommends over two hours of exercise a day, noting these are not dogs for lazy people.

How far can a Malamute run in a day?

They can run 10 miles and more, depending up on their fitness. Mals are prone to overheating, so should not run long distances in hot or humid conditions. Hiking Miles: Mals can easily manage day-long hikes, or multi-day hikes.
