Is there a dewormer shot for dogs?
There are many safe ways to de-worm your dog. The sooner the worms are gone, the sooner your pet will get healthy and feel better. Your vet will give your dog medicine by mouth or in a shot to kill the worms.
How much does it cost to deworm them?
There are several different kinds of worms, from intestinal worms to heartworm to tapeworms. The cost of a basic vet visit ranges depending on where you live, from $15 in some areas to $50 in others. The medicine itself, either an oral or topical treatment, ranges in cost from $3 to $18.
How many deworming shots does a dog need?
Puppies should be dewormed at 2 weeks of age (before ascarid eggs are passed in the stool) and again at 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age. Then, it's prudent to put them on a monthly heartworm preventive for life that also protects the dog against other parasites, or at least continue monthly deworming for six months.
How long does the Dewormer shot last?
After six months, it is recommended that you continue deworming your dog every three months.
