How much should my Goldendoodle be eating?

You should be feeding your Goldendoodle 1-4 cups of food a day, depending on adult size, split between the two meals. It is recommended that you avoid giving them table scraps and “people food,” as this can cultivate begging habits and a tendency for weight gain or health problems.

Can goldendoodles eat once a day?

It's not ideal to only offer food once a day – veterinarians might recommend splitting your dog's daily rations into two separate portions. This tends to keep dogs more satisfied and can help with weight control.

Why do goldendoodles eat so much?

In many of the above cases, the underlying mechanism leading to increased hunger is the same: your dog's body is unable to absorb the nutrients in the food or digest it properly, so their appetite goes into overdrive. They are actually starving no matter how much food they eat, so they compensate by eating everything.
