How often is it recommended to treat birds for intestinal worms?

Worming should be repeated on at least three occasions at three weekly intervals to try to break the life cycle. Regular worming should be carried out every 3 months in aviary birds or birds, such as free- range chickens that have contact with wild birds.

Do birds need to be dewormed?

We get this question a lot, the answer is YES! Regular worming should not be overlooked. Worms can kill birds, even if you only own one. Just like dogs, cat and even humans, birds can come in contact with some pretty nasty stuff, regular worming will ensure your birds stay healthy and parasite free.

When should I worm my bird?

All birds, except single birds in a cage, need worming. I would recommend worming your birds every 3 – 6 months depending on where the birds are kept. If your birds are kept in an inside cage I would recommend worming them every 6 months with the Avitrol Plus bird wormer.

How many times should deworming?

Deworming is advised at least once a year. adults need deworming because there is a mild chance of parasites getting in our body orally either due to poor hygiene or outside food.
