Any Q

Daily brushing is a must, says Curtis, perhaps even two or three times per day if you like to keep your dog's coat long. She recommends having a groomer visit every 3 to 4 weeks for baths and 6 to 8 weeks for haircuts.

How often should you get full grooming?

A short cut can last a dog two to three months, but if your groomer leaves more than an inch of fur on your dog at a cut, you should get your dog groomed every four to six weeks to prevent matting. The same goes for dogs with curly and wavy coats.

How often should a dog be professionally groomed?

Shorter-haired breeds may not even need a traditional brush, but special gloves to help remove loose hair are great instead. If you like professional grooming, a proper groom every 1-3 months is plenty for most dogs, provided you regularly give them a quick brush at home.
