How much is normal shedding Husky?

【Expert answer】
Any Q

Siberian Huskies are an above average shedding breed. They have a thick double coat that sheds moderately year round, and heavier during seasons like spring and fall. However, their coat is fairly easy to brush and this is one of the best ways to reduce the excessive shedding.

Is it normal for Huskies to shed a lot?

Huskies tend to shed a lot but there are instances where they shed excessively. This can be attributed to several factors but it is mostly due to health concerns. If the shedding is accompanied by dull, flaky skin, it might be because of allergies or other nutritional deficiencies.

How long does shedding last for Huskies?

At least once a year the Siberian Husky sheds his entire undercoat. This process can last up to six weeks from start to finish. All dead hair needs to be brushed out to enable quick and strong re-growth. A warm bath and a blow dry will encourage the hair to drop out evenly and easily – making it easier to comb out.

What months do Huskies shed the most?

Most huskies shed their coats twice per year, once in the spring and again in the fall, but a few huskies shed only once annually, usually in the spring. In extremely warm climates (think desert or tropics) some huskies may shed continually.
