Eating any part of the deadly nightshade dangerous. According to the Missouri Botanical Garden, simply touching the plant may be harmful if the skin has cuts or other wounds. Intact skin in good condition should act as a barrier. It's advisable to wear gloves if the plant has to be handled, however.

Is black nightshade toxic?

Black nightshade contains a chemical called solanine which is poisonous to humans. The green fruits contain the highest amounts of solanine and therefore are the most toxic parts of the plant.

Reapply the glyphosate when new sprouts grow and develop leaves, keeping up this task for two or three years until the vine ceases to sprout.
