Nonliving things do not need air, food, nutrients, water, sunlight, or shelter. Other non-living things in the world include pencils, rocks, footballs, toys, hats, and many others. One more example of a living thing is a bird. A bird eats seeds or worms.
Are all food from living things?
Apart from minerals and the silly answer " most foods come from dead things" there are no human foods that do not come from living things. Some bacteria can live on inorganic materials like iron and sulphur.
Are fruits living or non-living?
The fruits and vegetables we buy in the grocery store are actually still alive, and it matters to them what time of day it is.
Is banana a living thing?
A banana tree is of course a living organism (until it dies!). The fruit is a part of that organism until it is picked, at which point it does not become an autonomous living organism in its own right. However, in general fruits contain seeds, which are of course the things that become new trees.
Can non-living things eat?
You also know that living things can move, eat, grow and breathe and non-living things do not eat, move, grow and breathe.
