Is all food from living things?
All living things need food to stay alive, grow, and get energy. Nutrition is the process by which living things get or make food. All animals get food by eating other living things. Herbivores eat plants, while carnivores eat other animals.
Why is food a living thing?
Organisms need to take food to get energy and perform life processes. A living organism undergoes many life processes like nutrition, respiration, digestion, transportation, excretion, blood circulation, and reproduction. To perform all these life processes, the organism needs energy and nutrients.
Is water living or non living?
Living things need food to grow, they move, respire, reproduce, excrete wastes from the body, respond to stimuli in the environment and have a definite life span. Water, sun, moon and stars do not show any of the above characteristics of living things. Hence, they are non-living things.
