A maximum of two pets is allowed to travel to the UAE per person, with each pet requiring an import permit. Puppies and kittens that are less than 27 weeks old from countries where there are high numbers of cases of rabies cannot enter the UAE.
What pets are banned in UAE?
Dubai has a list of prohibited breeds that are not allowed in the country. Banned breeds include all types of Pit Bulls, Japanese Tosa, Wolf-Dog Hybrids, all types of Mastiffs, Rottweilers, American Bully, American Staffordshire Terriers, Doberman Pinscher, Chow Chow, Boxer, and Perro de Presa Canario.
Can you own pets in Dubai?
To keep a pet in Dubai, you must register it with Dubai Municipality. With this comes some rules around vaccinations and registration. The registrations are valid for a year, so you must re-register each year. You will also be required to renew your pets' vaccinations every year, for dogs this is for rabies.
