A puppy should be wormed as early as two weeks of age. By the time a puppy is old enough to go to a new, forever home (ideally 8 weeks of age, after weaning) it's vital to maintain a deworming program to ensure your pet stays healthy and comfortable.
Is it too late to give my dog dewormer?
It is not too late for parasite control. Given his age and history of no dewormer it is recommended to take a fresh stool sample to your veterinarian. They will evaluate for what specific types of internal parasites he may have and get him started at least on a general dewormer.
