Jelly or jam isn't toxic to dogs in itself. It's essentially just pureed cooked fruit with added sugar but much like strawberry yoghurt, it's what's put into the jelly and jam afterwards that can make it dangerous for dogs. Xylitol is a sweetener used in some brands of jelly and jam. It's toxic to dogs.

Yes, most jam are packed with sugar. Sugar is bad for dogs. Since jam contains lots of sugar, it can cause canine obesity, diabetes, and dental problems in dogs, especially if your pooch is having jam on a regular basis.
Can dogs have raspberry jelly?
It's not toxic to dogs but veterinarians use it to treat diarrhoea. As a result, pectin can cause constipation in dogs which can create its own problems. There's no nutritional benefit in raspberry jam. Dogs are better off eating fresh raspberries as they are high in fibre and vitamin C.
Is strawberry jam poisonous to dogs?
It may be hard or confusing to figure out which fruits and vegetables are safe for your dog (here's a hint: grapes are definitely not safe), but yes, your best friend can have fresh strawberries. However, you should not feed your dog canned strawberries or strawberries in syrup. These are not good for your pet, at all.
