Usually 8 weeks. At this point, puppies should have developed a full set of teeth and be able to eat dry food without any additional liquid. As ever, it's important to reiterate that no two dogs are the same. If you're nine weeks into your puppy's transition to dry food, and they're still on mush, don't panic.
When can puppies start eating dry dog food?
Puppies should get solid food starting at about four weeks, when they're not able to get all the calories they need from their mother's milk. Most puppies are weaned by six weeks.
Should puppies eat wet or dry dog food?
Wet food is a great choice for young puppies. Those who have only just developed their teeth and transitioned to solid foods can find it difficult to chew and swallow, so dry food can be a challenge. Because of its meaty texture and fragrant smell, this form of food can also appeal to fussy eaters.
