Should puppy food be soaked?

【Expert answer】
Any Q

It is recommended that puppy food is soaked from the age of 3-4 weeks up to 12 weeks. However there is no set rule for this, some puppies or even older dogs will always prefer to eat dry food when soaked and it is providing your puppy or dog with more water intake, so certainly nothing wrong with that! 13 апр. 2021 г.

Do puppies need moistened food?

While wet food goes stale quickly if left out, dry puppy food will last during the day and won't spoil. Most puppies like to crunch on their dry food, but if yours prefers it moistened, or there's a medical reason to avoid hard food, leave the puppy food in a little water for a few minutes before serving.

Is it OK to soak dog food in water?

Soaking the food softens it, and so eases the initial work-load of the digestive enzymes which may well be struggling during illness or a period of recovery.
