You can spot worms in your poo. They look like pieces of white thread. You might also see them around your child's bottom (anus). The worms usually come out at night while your child is sleeping.

Sometimes the worms are visible in the anal area, underwear, or in the toilet. In stools, the worms look like small pieces of white cotton thread. Because of their size and white color, pinworms are difficult to see.

Is it normal to have small worms in your poop?
The pinworm infection is called enterobiasis. It is the most common type of worm infection in the United States. Although a pinworm infection does need to be treated, it usually doesn't cause any serious medical problems. Pinworm infections are very common, affecting approximately 1 billion people worldwide.
