When should a dog go to the groomer?

【Expert answer】
Any Q

Once you've successfully acclimated your pup to all-around handling, at or around the 10-12 week mark, you can take her in for the first grooming session (often after the second round of shots). At the latest, the first grooming is recommended before 16-weeks of age.

How often should my dog go to the groomer?

Most owners of cats or dogs with longer fur opt to take their pet to the groomers once every 4-6 weeks, while shorter-haired breeds may only visit every 8-12 weeks.

When should you first groom your puppy?

We recommend introducing your puppy to grooming at 10-12 weeks old, after their second set of vaccinations – even short-haired or smooth-coated puppies. Waiting until later in life could mean that grooming becomes a very stressful experience for your pet.
