Because worms are so common in puppies, vets recommend de-worming them for the first time when they're 2 to 3 weeks old. Worms can pass from mother to baby before birth or soon after, through their milk.


Should I Deworm before or after eating?

No special preparations (fasting, laxatives, or enemas) or other steps are necessary before, during, or immediately after treatment with albendazole. Take this medicine with meals, especially with food containing fat, to help your body absorb the medicine better.

Should deworming be done on empty stomach?

It does not matter for most of the de-worming medications. Ideall, you should given the tablet with small amount of food on empty stomach and feed about 1hr later. Please ,remember to repeat the treatment in 2 weeks time.

What time is best to take Dewormer?

Twice a day: this should be once in the morning and once in the evening. Ideally, these times are 10–12 hours apart, for example some time between 7 am and 8 am, and between 7 pm and 8 pm.

Can I deworm in the morning?

For other types of common worm infections (such as roundworm, hookworm), take mebendazole by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually twice a day (in the morning and in the evening) for 3 days. If necessary, a second treatment may be given in a few weeks. For other types of infections, follow your doctor's directions.
