What kind of dog eats its owner when they die?

【Expert answer】
Any Q

In one 2007 report, a Chow and a Labrador mix survived for about a month after consuming their dead owner's body, leaving only the top of the skull and an assortment of bone shards. Yet in the 1997 case, the German shepherd began eating parts of its owner soon after death. 2 февр. 2021 г.

Do dogs eat their owners after death?

Yes. Dogs are perfectly willing to eat human corpses, and there's no evidence that they treat their masters differently than any other dead body. Many cultures consider dogs unclean precisely because of their tendency to scavenge our remains.

How long before a dog eats its dead owner?

At some point, the body will start to go rotten past the point of the dog wanting to eat it, and I know dogs can go a little longer than humans without eating. I'd guess around five to seven days would be the right time to dig in, as long as the human-meat is still fresh enough.
