In many of the above cases, the underlying mechanism leading to increased hunger is the same: your dog's body is unable to absorb the nutrients in the food or digest it properly, so their appetite goes into overdrive. They are actually starving no matter how much food they eat, so they compensate by eating everything.
Should my dog eat all his food at once?
Imagine if you only got to eat breakfast each day, and that was it! Regular, routine feeding times allow your dog's body to be prepared for the food it will receive. It is not recommended to keep the bowl filled and allow grazing. A break in eating habits can be a warning sign of illness.
Do dogs stop eating when they are full?
