How much exercise does a Lurcher need? Lurchers require at least two walks a day, and need the option to stretch their legs out for at least one of their walks. Given they have a strong prey drive, many owners opt to keep their Lurchers on the lead when out and about.
How do you take care of Lurchers?
As a general rule lurchers as pets are great . They do need more exercise than the greyhounds and are not so good at being left. If you work you will need to have other dogs or doggie day care solutions. They also need a fully secure garden – so 6 foot fences to keep the dog safe.

For most Lurchers, you should aim for at least 40 minutes of exercise per day. Whilst this goal may seem low, it's all thanks to their sighthound heritage. Contrary to popular belief, sighthounds don't need tons of exercise. In fact, they love to lounge around all day, making them low maintenance pets.
What age do Lurchers calm down?
What exactly do you mean by calming down? Mine have all been at their worst behaviour wise from around 12-18 months to be honest. But they've not magically changed at 18 months,it's been more of a gradual maturing.
