Most Salukis are stubborn and can be manipulative. You must show them, through absolute consistency, that you mean what you say. In other words, you must teach your Saluki to respect you. Are Salukis aggressive?
Generally quiet but alert, he's a good watchdog, but not a guard dog. Salukis are fearless in the hunt but otherwise unaggressive.
What problems do Salukis have?
The potential health problems that Salukis are prone to include: Heart problems. Haemangiosarcoma – malignant tumour of the lining of the blood vessels. Hip dysplasia – hip joint laxity as a result of poor development, which will eventually lead to arthritis.
Are Salukis obedient?
Salukis are easy to train, but highly sensitive to harsh treatment. This intelligent breed will learn basic obedience commands quickly, as long as you take a calm, patient, and gentle approach to training.
Do Salukis bark a lot?
Salukis don't, however, do much wrong – aside from chewing and digging. They are not excessive pullers, they don't bark a lot, and they are not a hyperactive breed.
