How often do birds need to be wormed?

All birds, except single birds in a cage, need worming. I would recommend worming your birds every 3 – 6 months depending on where the birds are kept. If your birds are kept in an inside cage I would recommend worming them every 6 months with the Avitrol Plus bird wormer.

Do birds need to be dewormed?

We get this question a lot, the answer is YES! Regular worming should not be overlooked. Worms can kill birds, even if you only own one. Just like dogs, cat and even humans, birds can come in contact with some pretty nasty stuff, regular worming will ensure your birds stay healthy and parasite free.

How often should I deworm my budgie?

Birds in suspended cages, such as budgies, should be de-wormed once or twice a year as the chances of re-infestation are low. This is because they spend little or no time on the ground and their cages are regularly cleaned.
