Can you freeze banana chips?

【Expert answer】
Any Q

After the chips have fully dried, let them cool then store in an airtight storage container. I use freezer bags and store the chips in the freezer. The quality of the chips will last longer in a cool/cold dark storage area (freezer). The chips are great for snacking or adding to recipes for a surprise treat.

Can you freeze dried banana chips?

Of course, you can always eat these freeze-dried banana chips right out of the jar too. Take them on the trail for a nutritious, flavorful, healthy snack. Kids love the crisp texture and tropical flavor. Enjoy the healthy goodness of crispy, freeze dried bananas all year long.

How long will banana chips keep?

Because they are deep fried in oil they have a fairly short shelf life- up to 2 months maximum when stored in the correct conditions. The oil is prone to turning rancid and the crisps to becoming soft if they are not stored in air-tight containers. The dried chips are a more 'wholesome' product.

Are banana chips freeze dried or dehydrated?

Most people are familiar with banana chips (dehydrated) but not necessarily freeze-dried bananas (which become soft when you place them in your mouth). Weight is another difference. Freeze-dried foods are going to weigh a lot less than dehydrated foods.
