Do boy dogs get along better with girl dogs?

【Expert answer】
Any Q

Most experts agree that, as a rule, male and female dogs get along better than two females or two males. However, that being said, I've known many households (including my own) that successfully have two of the same gender dogs without any problems at all. 29 янв. 2004 г.

Do male dogs get along better with male or female dogs?

Gender: While there is no set rule that a female dog will be a better friend for a male dog, if you have never had two dogs at the same time it is generally easier and often safer to have dogs of the opposite sex. Same-sex combinations can be tricky to manage as dogs work out their dominance or pack order.

Do male dogs prefer female dogs?

Whether or not dogs are more attracted to one gender can't be objectively answered because all dogs and people are different. But, dogs generally tend to be more attracted to a specific set of behaviors that are exhibited mostly by adult women. It's not that dogs are exclusively attracted to female adults.

Can boy and girl dogs live together?

If both dogs have been neutered, there's an even higher chance the two dogs will get along well. A male and female dog can live in harmony because they don't have to compete over a position at the top of the totem pole.

Should I get a male or female dog if I already have a female?

In general, choosing the other gender is wisest. So if you already have a male dog, choose a female, and vice-versa. Select a younger dog (although, as stated above, not too young), as dogs close in age are more likely to have disagreements. Bringing in a dog older than your resident dog can create tension.
